M&M invests additional Rs 500 cr for EV infrastructure in Tamil Nadu
The automotive manufacturing company has built an EV battery test laboratory at an investment of Rs 210 crore at Mahindra Research Valley, the flagship R&D and innovation centre of the Mahindra Group.Currently, the equipment and components for the EV crash test unit are being procured, and the facility will be operationalised by January 2024.The company is also setting up an EV crash test unit at the Mahindra SUV Proving Track (MSPT) at Cheyyar near Chennai at an investment of Rs 290 crore to test electric SUVs with required standards, as EVs requires different crash test procedures and standards.The company intends to accelerate the development of EV platforms in order to roll out electric SUVs under a new platform INGLO.The new laboratory will conduct EV battery tests for crucial driving situations as well as vehicle safety.

NTPC to set up a new thermal power plant in Uttar Pradesh
The report will be sent to the Cabinet for approval at the earliest.Besides, the the power utility firm is planning expansion of the existing Meja thermal plant in Prayagraj district by adding two units of 800 MW each to the plant.The state Cabinet has already cleared the proposal for setting up 1,600 MW Obra D thermal power plant, in a JV with the UPRVUNL.The proposed plant comprising two units of 800 MW each is expected to be ready for operations in the next five to six years.NTPC will set up a new thermal plant in Uttar Pradesh in a joint venture (JV) with the UP Rajya Vidyut Utpadan Nigam (UPRVUNL), as well as expand the capacity of an existing plant.

ONGC awards contract worth Rs 837.34 cr to Engineers India
34 crore, and the project is expected to be completed in 45 months.Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) has awarded a project to Engineers India for the revamping of gas terminal domestic, Kribhco terminal of ONGC and Hazira plant in Gujarat.The entire order value is around Rs 837.The project will be executed on an engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) reimbursable open book estimate (OBE) basis.

We have to, at the end of the day, execute.What we could not model was the effect of the pandemic and the (Russia-Ukraine) war.I'm looking to the rest of the year as stable, if at all, towards the end of the year, maybe some drop in interest rates.According to me, the biggest challenge that the company will be having for some time to come is we have to get more and more people skilled to do the kind of work that we are doing.We hope to complete the plant and be ready for commercial production by the end of the year so that next year we'll begin to roll out the electrolysers and sell them to markets which could be anywhere in the world.
