GMR Smart Electricity secures work order worth Rs 5,123 cr
The project seeks to reduce AT&C losses in the designated area and improve the operational and collection efficiency of distribution companies in the state.The estimated cost to carry out the work in the Prayagraj and Mirzapur Zone is Rs 2,386.The contract is to be executed within 27 months from the commencement date, and the operational period will run for 93 months.72 crore and Varanasi and Azamgarh Zone is expected to cost around Rs 2,736.GMR Smart Electricity Distribution (GSEDPL) has received a letter of award (LoA) from Purvanchal Vidyut Vitran Nigam (PUVVNL) to implement a smart metering project in the Purvanchal area of Uttar Pradesh, including Varanasi, Azamgarh, Prayagraj and Mirzapur.

PMI Electro Mobility plans to double manufacturing capacity
The doubling of capacity is likely to be completed by early 2025, as PMI is set up to meet its delivery schedules.Rs 250 crore to partially finance the doubling of manufacturing capacity and meet capital requirements.On completion, it is expected to add another 3,000 units of capacity annually.To date, PMI has an annual manufacturing capacity of 1,500 units, which can be increased to 2,500-3,000 units on multiple shifts, at its Dharuhera plant in Haryana.As part of its expansion plan, the company is setting up a new manufacturing facility in Pune, Maharashtra.

India issues mandatory quality control order for cast iron products
Once the QCO comes into effect, manufacture, storing, trading, sale of the products in question will be prohibited unless certified by the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) that each of the products complies with the standards specified by the latter.The official notification said that the QCO will come into effect after six months.

India greenlights auction for four iron ore blocks in Rajasthan
The officials stated that the successful bidders would be awarded “composite licenses” for exploration and development of the assets and extraction of iron ore, along with any other mineral that may be established in course of the exploration.As per the plans of the state-level Department of Geology and Mines, as many as 38 mineral blocks will be put up for auction in the current fiscal year.It may be noted that there is no steel mill operational in Rajasthan currently.

Ramkrishna Forgings bags Euro 8.25 million order in South America
65 crore, for the supply of equipment to a client in the South American market.The company, which exports to over 50 countries, has a manufacturing facility in Jamshedpur in Jharkhand.The company will be supplying front and rear axle components for the next five years, it said in a statement."This contract represents a significant step in our journey to expand and diversify our operations in the South American market," said Ramkrishna Forgings CFO Lalit Kumar Khetan.It has formed a joint venture with Titagarh Rail systems to manufacture and supply 80,000 wheels to the Indian Railways.
