As per the Indian Railways, a complete new rail line project has been included in the budget for FY 2023-24.The detailed project reports (DPRs) of the projects identified under the corridor, including those that fall entirely or partially in Odisha, requires consultations with various stakeholders, including state governments, public representatives, organisations, rail users, tribal people, and others. The Central government has initiated the ‘Janjatiya Gaurav Corridor’ with an estimated cost of Rs 70,000 crore to expand rail infrastructure for promoting rail connectivity in tribal-dominated regions.New line projects will be developed based on last mile connectivity, missing links and other routes, augmentation of congested or saturated lines, and many others, as determined by the progress of present projects, overall availability of funding, and competing demands.
